Le Marronnier

Le Marronnier is French for the chestnut tree. You can find such a tree in the middle of a cozy residential area on Tweede Hunzestraat, not far from Noorderplantsoen. Right behind this tree is the cozy neighborhood restaurant, aptly named Le Marronnier.

Here, chef Rob Beukhof has been preparing tasty dishes from the Mediterranean cuisine for over two decades, mainly inspired by the Périgord region in the southwest of France. In addition to the French cuisine, there are also hints of Italian and Spanish cuisine. The appearance of the living room restaurant radiates fitting Mediterranean atmospheres, for example, through the tiled floor inside or in the summer outside on the terrace under the chestnut tree.

Here you can try escargots as a starter and there are options for meat, fish, or vegetarian main courses. Finally, a sweet dessert like tiramisu or a savory end with a cheese platte, all can be combined with an Italian or French wine.

Would you like to enjoy this? Le Marronnier is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 17:30.
