This summer, from June 26 to 29, the poetry festival Dichters in de Prinsentuin returns to the scenic Prinsentuin in Groningen. Over four days, the garden will come alive with poetry from both well-known voices and fresh new talent, from the Netherlands and beyond.

The 2025 theme, Scherven en rafelranden (“Shards and Frayed Edges”), explores how poetry can uncover beauty in brokenness and foster connection. Expect thought-provoking evening programs on Thursday and Friday, diving into topics like gender roles, queerness, digital life, and poetry’s place in times of war. On the weekend, enjoy readings beneath the garden’s leafy canopies, take part in a translation workshop, or slow down with a guided reading session.
