Olijfboom Canteen

In Groningen, you can enjoy Greek food at the Olijfboom. They have two locations: Olijfboom Cuisine, to enjoy Greek cuisine in a restaurant setting, and Olijfboom Canteen, for a casual bite or take-away. The latter is situated among many other eateries on the Oosterstraat. 

While Olijfboom Cuisine focuses on dinner, the Canteen is more versatile. The option for Greek dinner is certainly not gone, as various main courses and desserts are on the menu. Starting from 5:00 PM, it is possible to choose a group menu with 2 or 3 courses. 

However, Olijfboom Canteen is already open before this time to enjoy various pita sandwiches with options like chicken or lamb, as well as vegetarian choices, Greek drinks, and Mezedes such as grilled sheep cheese with balsamic cream or peppers stuffed with feta. These snacks can also be enjoyed at home as takeaway or delivery meals. This makes Olijfboom Canteen a refreshing alternative to the many kebab shops in the area. 

Olijfboom Canteen is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
