The Trinity of the Uurwerker

Nestled beside the beautiful Harmony Building of the university is the Uurwerkersgang, from which this multifunctional establishment gets its name. Through this alley, you can reach the Uurwerkersplein. This square is largely surrounded by the Uurwerker building, divided into three parts, each offering something unique. 

The café itself is open and spacious. In addition to enjoying drinks, lunch, or dinner, it also provides ideal spots for studying, reading, or working while savoring a snack or beverage. An informal atmosphere is prioritized, thus reservations for groups under 8 people are not possible. Besides various seating options for different visitors, the menu is also very accessible. In addition to the typical snacks you'd expect at a café, the kitchen boasts a wood-fired stone oven for fresh pizzas, and you can try various "clocktails." If you don't eat meat, no problem, as there are excellent vegetarian options on the menu. If you prefer to linger for a while, late-night drinks are also an option. On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings, the Uurwerker stays open later, and a DJ spins tunes to enhance the atmosphere.

Looking for something a bit different for dinner? You can find that at the second part, Bistro Tijdsbestek. For this section, there's a different menu suitable for shared dining (although it's not mandatory). Vegetarians can also find great options here. 

If you're not in the mood for the laid-back atmosphere of the Uurwerker or the cozy restaurant feel of Tijdsbestek but instead are seeking a private space for a private party or meeting, then the third part is for you. It's called the Uurwerkertje. This section includes a space with 33 seats, a private bar, and a TV screen that you can rent. There are possibilities for up to 60 people, various buffets, and your choice of music.

In summary, It may take a bit of searching, but at Uurwerkersplein, you can find a delightful spot in the café with snacks and fresh pizza, a more refined dining experience in the bistro, or a private affair in the Uurwerkertje.
