2. Family Outings during Easter in Groningen: Easter Egg Hunt or Theater Fun

Tip 1. Here's an insider tip for you! On Easter Sunday, the first Easter day, you can visit Paviljoen Appelbergen in Glimmen at 11:00 AM or 3:00 PM. Famous for the pink elephant, of course. It's a delightful outdoor activity every year, and you’ll definitely meet the real Easter Bunny!

Tip 2. At a beautiful location in nature in Leens, you'll find Museum Borg Verhildersum. It's now an annual tradition to go Easter egg hunting in the castle garden on Easter Monday!

Tip 3. If the weather isn't great or you're just not a fan of Easter egg hunting but still want to do something fun with the family, head to De Neehoorn at Stadsschouwburg on Easter Sunday, April 20th.

Tip 4. Visit a Easter Bonfire. Go to an Easter Bonfire if you want to soak up some real culture (and smoke ;-)). In Noordlaren, the Easter bonfire is traditionally lit on the Sunday during or after Easter. It's a spectacular event where a large fire is set to close the old season and welcome the new one. The Easter bonfire attracts many visitors each year who come together to experience the fire and festive atmosphere. This year, the Easter bonfire will take place on Sunday, April 20th, from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM, at the Kerkduinen in Noordlaren.

Lövestad - Saturday, April 19th
Lövestad brings 'live' to life like few electronic acts do. Once a duo, now led by Sjors Lammertink, Lövestad continues to impress with dynamic performances full of groovy futuristic disco and emotional house. His energetic live sets prove that funk is still very much alive in electronic music. Location: Poppodium Simplon.

Dutch Reisopera - Saturday, April 19th
Director Ted Huffman brought The Dutch Reisopera to life with a powerful adaptation of L’Incoronazione di Poppea, revealing the dynamics of power and seduction in society as an eternal comedy. The production was a great success at opera festivals in Aix-en-Provence (2022) and Versailles (2023), inspiring Reisopera to bring it to the Netherlands, and now to Stadsschouwburg Groningen. "This comes close to perfection in every way," said La Marseillaise after the performance.
