ESNS Extra Timetable 2025| January 15 - January 18 

Don't miss the extraordinary free concerts during ESNS Extra, right in the heart of Groningen's vibrant city center.  Check out the ESNS Extra timetable for an unforgettable musical experience. ESNS generously offers a portion of its program for free to the city. The large festival tent will no longer be present on the Grote Markt, but various artists will perform at GRUNNSONIC.

Grunnsonic | January 15 - January 18 | Concerthuis, Warhol, Pakhuis, Klup de Dag, Meet@AIR at Grote Markt

At Grunnsonic, witness performances by local Groningen acts including HETA, the Last Mandrill, Stof de Band from Groningen and Angry Chair if you like the iconic sounds of the go's Seattle Grunge movement.  An absolute cosy vibe you will catch if you visit the upcoming musician Camiel under the performing name noise, check een preview hier: camiel | Chartmetric. This official ESNS event, organized by POPgroningen and ESNS, will take place at Pakhuis, Warhol, Concerthuis, and the clothing store KLUP DE DAG.

FREESONIC | Em2

Visit FREESONIC for free performances by local bands at EM2 on Thursday and Friday. During Freesonic, there will be 9 performances on both days, with some artists playing two sets in one evening. After the hustle and bustle of the city, you can still enjoy live music at EM2, as the programming continues until 02:15. On Thursday, performances include Stof, Juno’s Valley, and PULSE. On Friday, Bad Luck Baby, Steebs’ Method, StAD, and more will take over.

HUB NOORD Conference Program | January 18 | Minerva

Every year, HUB NOORD becomes the heart of Northern pop culture during ESNS. Together with musicians, policymakers, festivals, and pop organizations from Northern Netherlands, NOORD organizes a program filled with panels on creating in pop culture and (international) talent development. In the evenings, HUB NOORD transforms into an ESNS stage, where participants of NOORD projects Hit the North, Up North, and Go! showcase their work to artists, visitors, and professionals from the European music industry.

The hub collaborates with various partners each year. This year, Minerva presents a music program featuring artists from the Academy for Pop Culture. Other Minerva students have the opportunity to exhibit and sell their work through De Nieuwe Editie.

NOORD, a young collaboration between Eurosonic Noorderslag (ESNS), Noordstaat, Popfabryk, POPgroningen, and Stichting Kunst & Cultuur, aims to foster the development and professionalization of makers and acts from the Northern pop scene. In addition to the hub, NOORD is also present at Popgala NOORD and MEET@AIR, where a selection of the NOORD lineup will be presented.
