Kids activities during spring break in Groningen

The spring break in the north of the Netherlands is on the doorstep: from the 17th of February until the 24th of February and in the south of the Netherlands it will start a week earlier.

If you go to the city of Groningen during the Spring Holiday, there is a lot of fun stuff to do for kids. But it is also very OK to decide to celebrate your holiday at home in Groningen with the whole family! We would like to give you a BIG number of tips to prevent boredom from setting in this spring break!

Sunday February 18, 2024 | Releasing seals | Pieterburen

Seal center Pieterburen helps seals and their habitat, UNESCO World Heritage Wadden Sea. The seal center works hard to prevent seals from getting into trouble. Does a seal end up in distress? This care is then provided, partly behind the scenes, partly visible to visitors to the center. It is quite an experience to visit the center and you can also do this with your family during the spring holidays.
Do you really want to undertake a special activity? They regularly release the healthy seals back into the Wadden Sea. Although it is pricey, it is a very special experience to be able to go on the boat.

Sunday February 18, 2024 | Diarrhea is my favorite color | Grand Theatre

This performance looks for beauty in the ugly. Because what one person considers tasteless, another finds beautiful. Together with the audience, we investigate what is actually meant by the word 'success'. Who decides what is cool or beautiful and why? Who decides whether something is Art or can go straight into the trash? Can you perhaps look at it differently?

Don't we care too much about the judgment of others?
