Brasserie Prinsenhof

The Prinsenhof is one of the most famous monumental buildings in Groningen and has a rich history. In the 15th century, a religious order established itself here, after which it became a bishop's court and then the residence of the stadtholders of Groningen. These were the princes of Nassau, which is why the building became known as the Prinsenhof. Today, there is a four-star hotel, the beautiful Prinsentuin, and two restaurants located here. 

One of these restaurants is Brasserie Prinsenhof. It is located in the former church of the religious order that once resided here. In contrast to Restaurant Nassau, the other dining establishment in the Prinsenhof that focuses on fine dining, the Brasserie offers options for breakfast, lunch, drinks, and dinner, as well as a cocktailbar and high tea. 

This makes the Brasserie the more accessible sibling of Restaurant Nassau, where both hotel guests and passers-by can enjoy themselves all day long. The menu reflects this diversity of guests, offering affordable options such as ravioli or soup with sandwiches, as well as more expensive options such as caviar or lobster. When the weather is nice, it is delightful to sit on the terrace in the courtyard. 

The Brasserie's opening hours are as follows: breakfast from Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 10:00, on Saturday, Sunday, and holidays from 08:00 to 11:00. Lunch is available every day from 11:30 to 17:00. Dinner is served Monday to Saturday from 17:30 to 21:00 and on Sunday from 17:30 to 20:30.
