Grote Markt, 9712 HNBabeth Fonchie Fotchind is a poet and writer who regularly performs at stages and festivals. Her work has been published in various magazines and journals, including Kluger Hans, De Revisor, De Groene Amsterdammer, DW B, De Gids, ELLE magazine, and Lilith Mag.
She was selected for the writing residency of deBuren and the Slow Writing Lab of the Dutch Foundation for Literature, and was named Next Talent To Watch by VOGUE. She has been nominated for the Harpers Bazaar Women of the Year Award and recognized as a literary talent by the Volkskrant. Her poetry collection "Plooi" was published in June 2022 by Uitgeverij De Geus and received rave reviews. Currently, she is working on her debut novel and her second poetry collection.
Robin Block is a writer and musician.
He operates at the intersection of language, music, and performance, often exploring the shared history of the Netherlands and Indonesia. As a regular columnist for the Indisch Tijdschrift Moesson, Robin shares his insights and experiences.
Recently, he published his new poetry collection "Manual for the Displaced" with publisher Atlas-Contact, which has won both the Granate Poetry Prize and the Herman de Coninck Prize.
A selection of poems from this collection has been adapted into the video project "Manual for the Displaced," in collaboration with filmmaker Jeremy Flohr. This project has received awards at the Dutch Poetry Film Festival, the Weimar Poetry Film Festival, and the Rome International Movie Award.
As a musician, Robin Block has released several albums of dreamy Indiefolk music. He won the award for Best Musician at the Grote Prijs van Nederland and has performed at numerous festivals and venues.
