For the 24th time, Forum Groningen is organizing a satellite version of International Film Festival Rotterdam. A nice cross-section of the IFFR program will visit our beautiful city of Groningen from Wednesday 31 January to Sunday 4 February 2024.

What to expect?

IFFR is a leading cultural platform that is accessible to everyone, focusing on immersive cinema and audiovisual art. IFFR makes it possible to make discoveries, engage in dialogue, share knowledge and meet others, through screenings, conversations, exhibitions and networking.

Since 1997, under the name IFFRiG the Groninger Forum has programmed a pocket edition of the festival simultaneously with the last five days of IFFR, showing a cross-section of the best films screening in Rotterdam on the big screen.

Debut film

Together 99 will be the debut film of the Groninger International Film Festival Rotterdam on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. This film is the winner of the IFFR Youth Jury Award in 2020.

In "Together 99," Lukas Moodysson skillfully brings together the original cast of "Together" (IFFR 2001) to revisit the characters of the Tillsammans commune, offering a poignant snapshot twenty-four years later in 1999. The commune, once a thriving community, has dwindled down to just two members, Klasse and Göran, who find themselves grappling with the lethargy and disillusionment that often accompany middle age.

Practical

Tickets

Ticket sales start on Wednesday, January 24 at 9:00 AM, both online and at the box office. Buy your tickets online as much as possible.

Prices

Prices range from €10.50 (early bird) to around €13.00 (standard). This may differ for special programs.

Cineville pass holders

As a Cineviller you can visit the regular films during IFFR in Groningen, but reservations are not possible. Tickets can be collected from 1.5 hours before the start of the performance if it is not sold out.

Please note: no support act

Normally you only miss the support act (trailers) when you enter the hall a little later. However, there is no supporting program for the films during festivals. The film starts immediately at the stated start time. So be on time!
